Unfollowing someone on Facebook means you will no longer see their posts in your News Feed. This includes status updates, photos, videos, and shared links.
Here's what happens when you unfollow someone:
You remain "friends" with them. Unfollowing is different from unfriending. You will still be connected as friends on Facebook. They can still see your public posts and posts you share with friends. You can still message them, and they can still message you.
They are not notified. Facebook does not tell people when you unfollow them.
You can still visit their profile. You can still manually go to their profile page to see their posts if you want to.
You can re-follow them. You can re-follow someone at any time to start seeing their posts in your News Feed again. To do this, go to their profile and click the "Following" button, then select "See First" or "Default".
